Just Announced: USHJA Emerging Jumper Rider Program; Applications Reopen for Zone Jumper Team Championships
|
Today, USHJA announced a new program to identify the next generation of international Show Jumping talent in the United States. The
USHJA Emerging Jumper Rider Program will allow the United States to identify and provide education and guidance to riders competing at the 1.10m-1.35m levels, as well as to their trainers and parents.
The Emerging Jumper Rider Program uses the new
USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships, which are offered at 1.10/1.15m, 1.20/1.25m and 1.30/1.35m, to identify Jumper riders who have the skill and desire to excel in the sport, while educating these riders to become well-rounded horsemen on their path to excellence.
To allow for maximum participation in the first year of this exciting opportunity, the USHJA has reopened the application period and extended the 20 point minimum requirement for the USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships for our zone. USHJA will accept riders on until all spots are filled or 45 days prior to their zone's Championships, whichever occurs first. All riders who applied and met the criteria at the time of the original application closing deadline of May 1 will be invited to the Championships.
Note our new deadline and
APPLY!! This is your chance to get identified by sport leadership!

We are saddened to hear about the passing of Helen Dent Lenahan May 19, 2017.
She left a tremendous legacy within our sport as a competitor, an owner, a supporter and a friend to so many.
In 2011, Mrs. Lenahan was recognized for her contributions as the inaugural recipient of the Mrs. A.C. Randolph Owners Legacy Award.
Mrs. Lenahan had numerous wins over more than 70 years in this sport, including her incredible mare Miss Lucy who added to her accomplishments just last year when she won the USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship with Kristy Herrera in the irons.
Mrs. Lenahan's kindness, generosity and eye for a talented horse and rider were unmatched, and she will be greatly missed. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends.
