The City of Moreno Valley would like to thank Brownie Troop 737 for their generous donation to the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter.

The Brownies brought in some much needed items including food, cat litter, towels, toys, and side by side bowls.

These items are always needed to help make the animals comfortable in the shelter as they wait for their owners to find them or are adopted into a new loving home.

This donation helped the girls earn their “Give Back” patches.

The City's Community Development Department launched a redesigned website to make it easier for residents to find information about development, business, and neighborhood services directly related to enhancing the quality of life in Moreno Valley.

The Community Development Department provides development and quality control services through three divisions:

• Planning
  
• Building and Safety
  
• Code and Neighborhood Services

Residents, business owners and developers can also track the status of their building safety permits, code compliance cases, planning projects, and much more through the City's new online portal, Simplicity, accessible through the Community Development Department's website.

SimpliCITY makes it easy to search project information by date, address, parcel number or project record number. Users can find the most current updates on the status of records, property information, related project records, lists for new projects and permits issued by the City without having to come to City Hall.

The City of Moreno Valley is pleased to welcome its newest K-9 “Maddox” and his handler Officer Romero.

The 4-year-old German Shepherd and his handler have returned from initial K-9 training and will soon be patrolling the streets of Moreno Valley. 

Maddox was donated to the City of Moreno Valley by Adlerhorst International, which provides service dogs and training to hundreds of police agencies across the United States.

Maddox replaces former longtime K-9 Ivan who passed away in February 2017.

A $1 million project to alleviate flooding and traffic delays at the intersection of Elsworth Street and Alessandro Boulevard is scheduled to begin construction in mid-June.

The project will include building a large storm drain system and update the traffic signal system. 

The existing pavement will be replaced with a smooth driving surface.  The project is 90% funded by the Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program with the remainder funded by regional Measure A sales tax revenues.

After more than seven years of dedicated service, Sheriff 's Service Officer Robert “Bob” Winchell is retiring from his position at the Moreno Valley Police Department.

Bob began volunteering for the Riverside Sheriff’s Department in 2008, managing equipment and vehicles at the Lake Elsinore station.

After donating countless hours to the Sheriff’s Department, Bob decided to seek employment with the Sheriff’s Department. In 2015, Bob was hired as a Sheriff’s Service Officer, and began working at the Moreno Valley Police Department. 

Bob is known for his dedication, steadfastness, and reliability, and we will miss him.

The City of Moreno Valley would like to wish Bob a long and happy retirement.
