+ Worship

This Sunday we are blessed with a special offering: the Youth Musical! This year's musical is considerably different from previous years. This year, the youth have undertaken the challenge of creating the musical themselves, with help and direction from our Interim Parish Musician, Gary Mitchell. Their faith is evident in the story they have crafted, and seen in the scenarios that reflect their experiences of living out the teachings of Jesus.

This Sunday is also Lutheridge Sunday, when we will be joined in worship by a good number of Lutheridge summer staff. We hope to see you there!

CONGREGATIONAL FORUM
RECAP

This past Sunday we held a congregational forum to give an update on how things are progressing here at Nativity. The highlight of the forum was the announcement that Michele Grush has accepted our offer to return to Nativity as our new
Parish Administrator!

Because there was so much material to cover in a short amount of time, we have condensed the content of the forum for those who would like a review:

to a recording of the forum.
(note: you'll probably need to download the file due to the size)

of the content of the forum.
+ Noisy Offering
jar_coin.jpg
Thank you for your generosity!  Inspired by NPK's year-long offering, we designated May's Noisy Offering to purchase impactful items from ELCA Good Gifts.

With your offering of $550, we bought a community vegetable garden, farming tools and training, water purification tablets, a grove of 10 fruit tree seedlings, 2 bee hives, a rooster, 20 chicks, a pig, and 2 goats!

T hese gifts will be distributed by the ELCA to our global neighbors.  Thank you for being part of long-term, sustainable solutions to poverty and hunger!

To learn about the gifts we gave, check out the GIVE bulletin board near the preschool hallway.

+ opportunity to share your gifts this summer!

As most of us are aware, the musical ensembles take a break over the summer months. We are just about ready to start that time of respite, which means there are ample opportunities to offer your musical gifts for anthems on Sunday mornings!

If you are interested in singing a solo, or joining your voice in a duet, or playing an instrument, or offering a liturgical dance, or just about ANY artistic expression of your faith during the offerings this summer, please sign-up on the board outside the choir room. Pastor Gregg and Gary Mitchell will contact you and explore possibilities. If you would rather discuss your ideas with Pr. Gregg first, let him know by clicking here
+ nativity women

The 2017 Annual Gathering and 30th Anniversary of the NC Women of the ELCA will be held on  June 23-25, 2017 at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. More information may be found at
www.NCWELCA.org or contact Linda Blake, 684-8378. Expenses for one delegate and one participant will be paid by Nativity Women's group.

NPK celebrates
reaching goal!

They bought a Family Farm this year from the ELCA Good Gifts program. Over $715 was raised this year during chapel - coins and dollars really add up!

A clear example of "Making Christ Known" ... "A cow, a couple goats, a dozen chicks, two pigs, farming tools, seeds and agricultural training and support can help a family achieve a fresh start.  With new tools and techniques, crops will grow stronger than ever. Eggs, milk and meat from the farm animals provide a lifetime of food to eat and sell on the market, helping a family escape the cycle of hunger and poverty - for good."

+ When are you going to camp this summer?

We want to support our youth as they attend camp this summer, and Nativity's custom is to lift them up in prayer during their week of camp. In order to do this, we need your help!

Please email the office ( click here) if you have one or more children attending camp this summer. Let us know when they are going, that way we can pray for them on that Sunday as a part of our worship at Nativity.
Thank you for your help!
