About the workshop:
The workshop will include two-days of hands-on, instructor-led training sessions at Metro State University of Denver conducted by a trained instructor on 13-14 July. The training content will cover programming autonomous ground robots with MATLAB and Simulink. Miniature Arduino-based robot platforms, provided by BEST Robotics,Inc. will be used in the workshop along with the MATLAB and Simulink software to program them. Instructors will also cover the application of the software skills gained through this workshop to program the VEX Cortex used on the BEST robotots. David Dominguez from Trinidad State Junior College is the instructor for this training (
[email protected]).
NOTE: The primary focus of the material is on learning how to program robot platforms and use the skills in the actual competitions. The robots are off-the-shelf pre-assembled hardware kits, so there is no physical building of the robot covered in this workshop.
Who can attend?
The workshop is limited to 24 students with 2017 Colorado Hub signed up school team students, teachers, and mentors eligible to participate. A team may sign up as many as 3 team members. If we have to limit attendance to less than 3 per school team, we will notify the school team teacher or mentor.
What about the computers and software?
The training will be held at Metro State University of Denver where computers will be available with installed MATLAB and Simulink.
Bring a USB drive to the workshop to copy any saved work.Team software licenses will be available at Kickoff.
