Ever since the announcement was made in December 2014, we've been counting down to one of the biggest summers our tiny island has ever seen.   Now it's here!!!  And while the majority of the action is happening up west, there'll be a ton of activity here in the East End as well.

Onion Day: 27 May

Tall Ships Welcome Festival: 31 May
The Tall Ships begin arriving in St George's on 26 May and all 20 will be in our harbour by 31 May. We have THREE large scale community events planned, Onion Day and Art Walk on 27 May, and the official Welcome Festival on 31 May.  There are also a few other activities, including 'Cultural Day' on 30 May where EVERYONE is invited to visit East End historic sites for FREE!

AMERICA'S CUP RACES
27 May - 27 June
Ta-da!  Here is the full America's Cup race schedule!  It's easy to head up to the races from St. George's, with the regular weekday ferries to Dockyard, and added special AC Village ferries on the weekend. 

But if you want to watch the race from the comfort of your neighborhood bar, White Horse, Wahoo's, East End Mini Yacht Club, and St. George's Dinghy and Sports Club will all be showing the races.

Of course May and June isn't ONLY about what's happening in Dockyard. There are great events Island-Wide, including the Superyacht and J Class Regattas (more info on those below) and loads of entertainment! 

ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE


SUPERYACHT REGATTA & CELEBRATION ZONE
13-15 June
The America's Cup Superyacht Regatta 2017 is an invitational event, open to sailing yachts whose length overall is 80 foot or greater.   The boats will depart from St. George's each day on the 13-15 June at 11.30am, and racing will take place around on South Shore.

On the 14 June, The Bermuda Tourism Authority will host a Celebration Zone event in St. George's, called Pirates and Plunder, with live entertainment, a wide range of vendors, and interactive games and fun for the whole family.  


J CLASS REGATTA & COMET RACE
16, 19 and 20 June 
In June 2017, the 35th America's Cup in Bermuda will be graced by the J Class fleet. These majes
tic titans of sail competed for the Cup during the 1930s and are perhaps still some of the most famous yachts afloat. 

The J Class race will be held in Murray's Anchorage. Viewing events are being held at Beach House and at Fort St. Catherine




On 19 June, Bermuda Heroes Day, the Historic Annual Comet Race will also be held on this day, with boats leaving West End Sailboat Club at 11 and make their way to the finish line in St. George's  harbor, with the prizegiving and party at East End Mini Yacht Club.  The Comet Race will also be viewable from Fort St. Catherine.
