DePaul University Names New Music Building
DePaul University's new School of Music building will be named for its outgoing president, the Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, C.M., who served in the role for 13 years. The Holtschneider Center for Music and Performance is slated to open in spring of 2018 on the Lincoln Park Campus. DePaul's board of trustees also named Holtschneider as the university's next chancellor.

Victory Gardens Theater and Emerald City Theatre  Announce 
Play Pals
Victory Gardens Theater and Emerald City Theatre announce Play Pals, a collaboration between the two companies that provides a theater experience for the whole family. 

During the 3:00 PM performances of Native Gardens at Victory Gardens Theater on Sunday, June 4 and Sunday, June 11, children ages 4 - 11 will engage in critically-acclaimed theater education workshops from Emerald City Theatre while their parents attend a performance of Native Gardens. 

Tickets are $40 when you use the code EMERALD and include one adult ticket to Native Gardens and up to three student admissions to the theater workshop.

Construction Begins on Bike Path
Construction to create separate paths for cyclists and joggers will close the Lakefront Trail east of Lake Shore Drive between Diversey Parkway and North Avenue began May 22.  A marked detour will take trail users west of Lake Shore Drive. Construction is expected to be completed this summer.
