Dear Chapter Leaders:
CSTA and Google have joined forces to make this year's Chapter Leadership Summit even better!
Local community chapters are vital to the long-term sustainability of CSTA and K-12 CS education. Google and CSTA are partnering to help strengthen CSTA chapters at the 2017 CSTA Conference in Baltimore. On July 8-9, the organizations will co-host workshops designed to build community among chapter leaders, provide leadership development to strengthen chapter communities and advocacy, and roll out new tools and resources that chapter leaders can utilize to build local engagement.
Google has committed up to $150,000 toward the Chapter Leadership Summit.
This commitment includes:
-
Travel grants for up to 100 teacher leaders to attend the Chapter Leadership Summit during the CSTA 2017 Annual Conference.
-
Leadership development sessions created in collaboration with Google, CSTA, and teachers.
-
CSTA Chapter Development Support post-summit through a micro-grant program and other opportunities.
-
Opportunities for chapter leaders to earn a Google Computer Science Education Leader Certification and become part of their leadership community of practice.
-
Opportunities to gain early access to new CS content support from Google, engage with Google experts to address chapter challenges, visit local Google offices, and much more.
The application will remain open until all travel grants are awarded, however, preference will be given to applications received prior to May 15. CSTA and Google will select recipients from among eligible applicants. Applicants will be accepted and notified on a weekly basis.
We look forward to seeing you at the Chapter Leadership Summit and Annual Conference in Baltimore, July 8-11!
