Ride in the Winter? Are you crazy?

What about the ice, snow and freezing temperatures? Don’t forget the wind. How do you keep your hands and toes from freezing? Speaking of freezing, what about the water bottles? Why would you put yourself through such torture?

Well I will tell you.

Fellow cyclists, with the end of the calendar year, it's time to compile the mileage totals of members who cycled 5,000 or more miles in 2017. If you biked this much you are probably well aware and keep meticulous records! Ernie Hazera has volunteered to take over the data compilation, after which we will publish the results and laud the grand achievement!

New Year, New Ideas - Planning for 2018

For the upcoming 2018 women's cycling season I am hoping for a new approach. I will be reaching out to all of our women riders and asking all of you to be mentors to other women rides. I am hoping that we will have a full calendar of PPTC and regional ride options where women can meet up with other women and be mentored by more experienced riders.

Be sure to get an early jump on spring 2018 by joining Potomac Pedalers for a weekend at the beach. Lewes is a small, picturesque, and historic town near Rehoboth Beach. This weekend is noted for its sociability and ease in meeting new people, so come alone or with a friend or spouse.
