CELEBRATION OF LIFE
William E. Long
William (Bill) Long was born December 13, 1937 in Kittitas, WA on a dairy farm, and entered his Heavenly home on April 5, 2017.
Bill learned the value of hard work on the dairy farm and this work ethic carried over into his schooling where he earned a  Theology degree from Northwest University. Bill married Phyllis Wornell on June 28, 1958 in Toppenish, WA. Together they had four children.

Bill became a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God in 1960. While attending Northwest University, Bill served as an associate Pastor at Southgate Assembly of God in Seattle, WA. From there he joined his brother John, who pastored the Assembly of God in Buena, WA, as an associate pastor. After John's sudden passing, in 1965, Bill took over as senior pastor. In fall of 1970, Bill and Phyllis became pastors of the Assembly of God in Brewster, WA. There he served for 22 years. During this time he also drove a school bus, where he enjoyed getting to know the students and considered that an extension of his pastoral ministry.

After leaving Brewster, Bill moved to Toppenish, WA. Never losing his love for farming, Bill took a maintenance position with Yakima Valley Nursery until his retirement in 1999. Even though he "retired," Bill never stopped ministering. Together Bill and Phyllis served the Lord in ministry for over 59 years.

We are thankful for Bill's  years of faithful service and ask you to unite in prayer for the Long family.

Sincerely,
The Northwest Ministry Network

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."
2 Timothy 4:7-8
