January 2018 Newsletter from the Figaro Owners Club - Issue No: 94
Good Morning ,

A belated Happy New Year! If you're an X-Factor fan you might have caught site of a lovely pink figgy entering the stage last month. It created some great publicity for the car and thanks has to go to Toby Brooks and his team from The Figaro Shop for driving up on the Sunday and helping them out on the night. The car is actually owned by member Sarah Gill and contained within this Newsletter is an interesting story about how it was polished by experts for a publication named Pro Detailer Magazine within an inch of its life!

We also feature an interesting story from member Sue Eustance about the brilliant work she does helping raise money for Children's Charities with an organisation called Sporting Bears. It really is heart warming stuff and hats off to Sue for taking her Figaro to these events and helping raise much needed funds. Although Christmas has been and gone now we just had to include a story from USA member Sal Monopoli and his Elfmobile!

New Facebook Pakistan Chapter Group

A few months ago we had an application to join the club from a guy named Khurram Saqib who is based in Lahore Pakistan. It seems that Khurram is mad about his Figaro and desperate to find other owners so we decided to start a Pakistan Facebook Group up just for him. Fingers crossed he can find other owners with the car to join him.

X Factor Car & Pro Detailing Magazine

Adrian Gill (Dad of Member Sarah Gill) wrote to us about her Pink Figaro which appeared on the X Factor last month. He also enclosed a very interesting article about written by Bert Youell from trade magazine Pro Detailing. It provides some excellent information on how to polish your car.

'The  car belongs to my daughter, Sarah, although it lives in my garage as she lives in London. Sarah has been a member of the Figaro Owners Club since its inception and won Best Custom Colour at Ace Cafe in 2011.

She has owned it since September 2007 having bought it from Figaro specialist (sadly no longer trading) AutoSupply UK in Brighton. They did the colour change from Lapis Grey.

Sarah and I are both car enthusiasts and I am into detailing and a subscriber to the Pro Detailer Magazine which is the Car Care Trade Association Magazine. They decided to run a special feature on Japanese Cars and asked readers for any interesting cars to feature. I sent an email offering Sarah's  car to the editor Bert Youell and he jumped at the chance. 2017 was a great year for the car with this article and xFactor'

My son Daniel in June 2008
About the club

How the club started
My son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro, having seen the car at our local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad) he brought an Emerald Green model in June 2008.

Following the purchase we scoured the internet for a members club in the hope that we could attend events with other owners, but were amazed that none existed...and so the Figaro Owners Club was born!  We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months, and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the 'publish button' and waited to see if anyone wanted to join. Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478 members.

Today the club has around 1,300 members worldwide in countries including New Zealand, Japan, Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and many more.
We are grateful to you and all our other members for help and encouragement throughout our journey as the club has grown into a passion which has taken over our lives - we FIGure in a good way.
Warmest Regards
