Farm Enterprise Budgeting - "Should I Plant Corn, Convert to Pasture, or....?"
9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Wednesday, January 17
Stevens Point

A simple enterprise budget is extremely beneficial to help producers assess the financial viability of their cropping systems. The goal is not to perform an all-inclusive financial plan for the farm; it is to help them make basic, simple decisions regarding their various farm enterprises.  If we can show them the numbers and how conservation can pay, it seems to go a long way towards us "selling" conservation. We will run through various scenarios and practice running an enterprise budget. The focus will be on a using a corn budget and grassfed beef budget.  Bring a laptop with Microsoft Excel loaded to practice "running the numbers."  Check out https://wisconsinlandwater.org/training/statewide-training-events or contact Penny at [email protected] for more information. Register by Thursday, January 11, for this free training with lunch provided at http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=7pa8l6qab&oeidk=a07eexnzt4d01feba30

Wetland Delineation Workshop Series

When planning a development project, you must know precisely the boundaries of wetlands on the property as determined through procedures specified in local, state, and federal rules. A wetland professional is generally required to make the boundary determination and their findings are subject to review by regulatory agencies. Each year UW-La Crosse holds a series of wetland delineation related workshops. These workshops, held in La Crosse and other locations throughout Wisconsin, are taught by experts in the field.
