Your duck adoption provided kids in shelter with healing, hope, and the knowledge that someone cares.
Your Duck Adoption Showed
Kids That They Matter
Thanks to friends like you, the 2017 YESS Duck Derby was a resounding success. We reached our 40,000 duck goal. We had picture-perfect weather and nearly 5,000 community members present for the event. Our community truly rallied behind our 10th year of "making a splash" for children in crisis.

The most powerful way to see the impact of this event, however, is to simply talk to the kids at YESS about it.  "My favorite part was the big bouncy things! I raced down the slide fast like Lightning McQueen and then we ate cupcakes!" said a kiddo in our Crisis Nursery.

"I liked the food a lot, especially the wings," said one of our preteen boys. Other popular activities with shelter youth included the balloon animals, seeing superheroes, and watching all the ducks race across the lake.

Most importantly, k ids in shelter who attended the event saw firsthand how many people care about them.

Children at YESS  know that the Duck Derby is all for them. E ach of those 40,000 rubber ducks represents a person who believes in them.  Everyone watching the race was cheering them on too. Your duck adoption not only provided vital funding for our mission - it showed kids in shelter that they matter!

On behalf of all the children whose lives will be changed because of this event, thank you. Your support truly makes a difference!

Thank you Team YESS.
We hope you'll "join the flock" again in 2018!
