Dear MLEPC Members and Friends:

This week is Youth Sunday where we welcome our church youth to lead us as a congregation in worship, prayer, scripture and offering. Youth Sunday is a vital part of our church's calendar that gives the youth an opportunity to share some of God's work within the program over the last year. The youth are led by Youth Director Brant Toulouse, Elder Karin Smith, and a group of loving volunteer leaders.

Over the past year God has really moved the youth here at MLEPC. He is molding a group of leaders, and the next wave of disciples to spread His kingdom. As many of you know, our youth are not afraid to serve and will joyfully pray for anyone. Someone asked me recently to describe our church youth in one word. I answered, "Leaders."

This year's confirmation class has been a joy to join, lead, and observe. The group as a whole has showcased so much leadership, curiosity, discipleship, fellowship, and dependence on prayer. This year's confirmation class will showcase a true boldness of a faith, based in Christ. Our confirmation retreat was at Laurelville, where the students spent a lot of time creating their statements of faith--which are amazing, if you were wondering.

Our Youth Group as a whole has spent a lot of time in fellowship and discipleship with one another. In the fall we started our youth small groups, which we continue to do weekly. The beautiful thing about our small groups is how our leaders encourage the students to pray, speak out, and even lead devotionals.

On the second Friday of the month we have our monthly Youth Group Night. The night features worship, games, snacks, a devotional, and guest performances. The worship is led by our Youth Worship Band, which will be preforming for God this coming Sunday.

These are all great examples of how God is truly leading the youth here at MLEPC. This summer features a lot of fun activities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and leadership. If you haven't noticed, we love the word "Leadership." We love it because our goal is to produce Christ-loving leaders who can go out into the community to spread the Good News.

Some of our summer events are VBS Youth Madness, the mission trip to the Wade Center in Bluefield, WV and Mission Possible. Not to mention, so many other fun things to come!

In Christ,

Brant Toulouse
