"Make it simple.  Be like children. Attend to now"
- Gurudev Amrit Desai

Yoga Nidra is a yoga practice that is suitable for everyone, all the time.  At it's worst it offers a nice nap.  But, at it's best, you get to experience transformation and deep healing, the by-products of extended deep relaxation.

Recently I returned from doing seva at Amrit Yoga Institute where Yoga Nidra is a primary practice.  The entire staff is invited to a mid-day Yoga Nidra session and the difference it makes in the daily functioning of the ashram is clearly seen and felt.

The practice falls into the category of pratyahara, one of Patanjali's 8 limbs of yoga.  Pratyahara practices enable us to experience life beyond the 5 senses, which theoretically will help us with our desires, cravings, and attachments.  During yoga nidra, we minimize sensory input as best we can, which then allows the subtle body to become more aware of itself.  But, one doesn't need to know or understand any of this to experience the long lasting benefits.  Gift yourself this workshop.  You'll be so glad you did.
