Hot Breakfast
Breakfast this coming Sunday, May 21, will be provided by guest chefs, the Brotherhood of St. Andrew (BOSA).

Please plan on joining everyone in Board Hall between 8:30am and 9:45 where you will not only enjoy great food but a time for fellowship.

Newcomer's Dinner
Newcomers Dinner on Sunday May 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Owl Creek Country Club. Visitors and newer members are invited for an evening of fun, food and fellowship.

If you have joined in the past year, have been visiting us or were not able to attend the newcomers dinner last October last event and would like to meet others, this event is for you. Children are welcomed and there is no cost.

Please RSVP to
Celia Manlove at celia.manlove@twc.com or call (502)253-0862.

Youth Sunday & Parish Picnic
On Sunday, May 21st, at our 10:00 Eucharist, we will be celebrating and honoring our children, youth, and their teachers and adult mentors, as we conclude another school year of Faith Formation here at St. Luke's.

The youth will be leading our worship - reading the lessons, offering the prayers, distributing Communion, and our sole high school graduate this year will be delivering the sermon.

Afterwards, we'll share a Parish Picnic on the Lyman House grounds.  The Church will provide the main course and beverages.  We encourage parishioners to provide side dishes and desserts.  We also need people to help organize this event, and help with set-up and clean-up. Please bring your own lawn chairs

Calling all instrumentalists!
If you're interested in playing a solo during the summer months, please contact Lisa Lewis at 593-8417, or music@stlukesanchorage.org

I'm also recruiting a page-turner/organ assistant for Sunday mornings!

Spring Foyer Groups Sign Up
Foyer Groups are groups of 6-8 (could be more) people that meet for a meal (at someone's home or at a restaurant). Every person (or couple) takes a turn arranging a meeting.  After the Spring meetings, new groups will begin in the Winter.

Besides having fun and getting to know each other, Foyer Groups offer an excellent opportunity to discuss where our church is now, where it is going and how we feel.   Of course, the groups have no assigned topics and people may just want to let the conversations ramble and flow, laugh and have a good time.

Sign-ups will go through May, with sign up sheets at both narthex entrances.

Call Calvin Riley Pinney: 245 1623 or Caroline Eddleman: 253-0135 for information or questions.

Ascension Day Service
May 25, (Thursday) a Rite II, Eucharist service at 7pm to be held at Christ Church Cathedral downtown.

Centering Prayer
Please join us for Centering Prayer on May 23, at 6pm in the church.

We meet every fourth Tuesday of the month.

Fellowship of Reflection and Prayer
Please join Jen Currens for weekly spiritual discussions inspired by scripture, classic Christian authors, prayers and more.

Each Thursday, 1:15 - 2:15.

We meet in the Chancel (near where the organ is). Come in at the memorial garden/handicap ramp door.

The Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is a ministry that works behind the scenes to prepare the altar for all our Sunday services, weddings and funerals.  We also wash and iron the altar linens. Currently we have four teams, and each team sets up one weekend a month.

We would love to have you join us.   If you are interested in learning more about our ministry, please contact Judy Pope, Pat Cline, Caroline Eddleman, Chris Wilcox, Cathy Meister or the church office.

Information Day: School of Ministry and the Diaconate
On Saturday, May 20, the Diocesan School of Ministry and the Commission on Ministry will co-sponsor an information day about the School and the diaconate. This event will be held at All Saints. It will begin at 10:00 a.m. (Central time) and end by 2:00 p.m. Lunch is included and there is no charge.

Topics to be covered include:

* What is the School of Ministry (SOM)
* How does the curriculum of the SOM support the development of lay and diaconal ministry
* How is the curriculum of the SOM used to educate deacons in our diocese
* What is the discernment process for deacons in our diocese
* What are the differences between lay and diaconal ministry

All individuals interested in hearing more about intentional lay ministry and the diaconate in the Diocese of Kentucky are invited. Participants are asked to have their rector/vicar/priest-in-charge or senior warden (in congregations without a priest) sign the application.

Information and applications can also be found on the Diocesan website (the application is the last form on the School of Ministry page; you get to the SOM page by clicking on "Ministries" on the homepage).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Ven. Dr. Rose Bogal-Allbritten at rosebogal@gmail.com or 270-293-9490.
