Letter from the Chair
Jim Mitchell, CCM
Your Certified Construction Manager designation continues to grow at a rapid pace, both by the number of credential holders and the preferences being given to those who have earned the CCM.  There are now more than 3600 Certified Construction Managers around the world.

Owners continue to see the value in hiring CCMs by documenting this preference both in RFP/RFQ solicitations and in their in-house job descriptions. Among the most recent Owners showcasing CCM advantages are the Connecticut Department of Transportation, Los Angeles Community College District, and the City of New Orleans.

As the number of CCMs continues to steadily climb, the CMCI Board of Governors  has incorporated the CCM Champion program, which provides advocacy within companies to help serve as CCM liaisons. CCM Champions are there to help guide potential CCMs through the application process, and existing CCMs through the renewal process. Through this effort, we hope to keep renewal enthusiasm high as well as provide assistance through mentoring.

As a continued effort to focus on retention, CMCI has begun partnering with organizations through the Recertification Point Provider program that will help individuals earn and maintain their CCM credential through various avenues of professional development courses. Additionally, CMCI also plans to unveil a webinar that will focus on how the renewal process works. It will showcase our RecertTrack platform and CMCI's renewal point system.

With your help, the CCM certification program continues to expand, and we are eager to continue setting the standards for the Construction Management industry and improving alongside it.

Sincerely,

Jim Mitchell, CCM

Mentors Needed
Attention active CCMs! The CMIT program is CMAA's fastest growing program, and one of the benefits of becoming a CMIT is access to learning from the CM industry greats, the CCMs.  You can give back to the industry and earn CCM renewal points at the same time by becoming a registered CCM Mentor.  Providing guidance in the form of knowledge sharing to assist mentees who are looking to become professional constructions managers and the future leaders within the CM industry is in high demand and we need more CCMs to get involved.  If you are interested in becoming a registered mentor, please sign up today!

Please note: In order to earn CCM renewal points for being a mentor, you must be registered in the Mentor Directory.
CCM Survey Coming!
In order to continue providing quality service and programs, CMCI needs your feedback. CMCI will be emailing the 2017 annual CCM survey in early June.  The survey should not take you more than 10 minutes to complete, but the results have a major impact on how the program operates.  This is your time to be heard - express your opinion and help us continue to build the best credential in the industry.  Thank you!
