From Pastor Julie -
Beloved Community,
This coming Sunday is known as Good Shepherd Sunday in the life of the church.  It always falls on this 4th Sunday of Easter and the texts include the beloved 23rd Psalm.

That beloved Psalm will form the foundation of the sermon on Sunday.  I have rested in it in these days...The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.  Those words have brought comfort and assurance to so many.  Reminders that even though we walk through dark valleys, we do not go walk there alone.

This Psalm, so beloved, walks us into the sheepfold, where the good shepherd, who knows us by name, welcomes us home.

Pastor Julie+

Sunday's Scripture Readings:
First Reading
Acts 2:42-47
Today's reading is a description of life in the community following Peter's sermon on the day of Pentecost, when the Spirit was outpoured on God's people. This new community is founded on the teachings of the apostles and sustained in the breaking of the bread.

SecondReading
Psalm 23
The  Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. (Ps. 23:1)

Gospe l
John 10:1-10
Jesus uses an image familiar to the people of his day to make a point about spiritual leadership. Good shepherds bring people to life through Jesus, but those who avoid Jesus are dangerous to the flock.
