May 11, 2017

It's hard to believe that we are not only wrapping up another school year, but also in full preparation for the next. Between now and then, CJ will once again be offering some great experiences on campus at our summer camps. This is a great opportunity for young people to experience our top-notch facilities and work one on one with our dedicated and skilled teachers and coaches. Spread the word and go to the CJ website for more information and to sign up.

Part of our preparations for next school year in Athletics is bringing Final Forms to CJ. Final Forms is an online site that all students must register with if they are playing any sport at CJ. There will be a mandatory Fall Sports Parent Meeting on  Monday, May 15 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium to go over details. If a student knows they will be playing a sport next year, parents can start the process by going to the CJ website.

Thanks for all you do and have a blessed summer.

Computer Skills Requirement Class - UPDATE
As we are now completing our fourth year of The Connected Classroom program, we have reviewed the requirement for freshmen to take computer skills tests and, if not passed, take the computer topics class. From what students are learning in middle school and during their time at CJ in our one-to-one Chromebook environment, the students have learned the basic skills that were being tested by the computer tests. Therefore, starting with the Class of 2020, it is no longer a requirement that students take the computer topics class or test out of the class by passing the computer skills tests. CJ will continue to offer the computer topics class as an elective for students who would like to learn more about the Google suite of products and Microsoft Office programs.

MINISTRY & SERVICE

From the Chaplain's Office
Last week, we received word that Pope Francis  approved of a miracle healing attributed to the intercession of Mother Adele  de Batz d e Trenquelleon, Foundress of the Marianist Sisters. This now paves the way for her Beatification, and brings her one step closer to being  canonized a saint. At the request of Sr. Franca Zonta, FMI - Super General of the Marianist Sisters - and in consort with Marianist communities around the world, we will offer a Mass of Thanksgiving at the CJ  Chapel on Friday May 12, at 7:20 a.m. Please join us if you are able. Mother Adele, pray for us!

Baccalaureate Mass
