Chamber Bucks Program Shows Positive Impact

The Forest County Chamber of Commerce recently compiled the year en
numbers for the Chamber Bucks program. 2016 was a record year for Chamber Bucks with a total of n early $15,000 purchased!

The Chamber Bucks program was initiated several years ago to encourage local spending, thereby supporting area businesses and bolstering the economy of the county.  Community-minded individuals, groups, and businesses purchase chamber bucks to use as gifts, rewards, employee incentives, or prizes. The recipient is given the Chamber Bucks certificate, along with a list of businesses who accept them. The face value of each one is to be spent in its entirety when presented. Then, the business simply deposits them along with their other banking.

The feedback over the past year, especially with the high volume, has been very positive and the Chamber expects the growth of this program will continue.  Chamber member businesses throughout Forest County accept Chamber Bucks.  The totals spent at individual businesses ranged from several hundred up to several thousand in just one year's time.

Chamber Bucks can be purchased at the Forest County Chamber of Commerce located at 116 South Lake Avenue in Crandon.  You can place an order ahead of time by calling (715) 478-3450 or emailing [email protected]. There is no fee to purchase Chamber Bucks. The Forest County Chamber of Commerce incurs all costs involved, as they consider this a valuab le service to provide to members.

Keeping as much spending local as possible is what it is all about!

County-Wide Rummage Sale Set for June 10
The Annual Forest County-Wide Rummage Sale is set for Saturday, June 10, 2017.  The goal is to bring people from outside the area, as well as local residents, to spend the entire day in Forest County.  This means a larger number of shoppers to the area, to your sale, and more opportunity for area businesses to benefit.

The Forest County Chamber's Retail Council felt last year's participation was great, thanks in part to the opportunity to add some extra details about your sale in the flyer.  Your name, address and sale time will be included in the flyer at no cost.  You can also purchase a bolded enhanced listing for $10 to allow additional information up to 50 words to highlight what you will be selling, or if your sale extends to the next day. Click below or contact the Chamber office ([email protected] or 715-478-3450) to get your registration form.  The Chamber will compile the list of participants and additional details and then produce the flyer.  The flyers will be distributed at chamber member businesses throughout Forest County, and be available for pick up starting June 2.

The Forest County-Wide Rummage Sale will also be highlighted through social media to spread the word and posters will be placed throughout the county to advertise the date.  The Chamber also encourages utilizing any of the fine newspapers that serve Forest County by placing an ad, especially if group advertising is available.

This event will be a great kick-off to the rummage sale season including the community rummage events planned in Forest County.  If your community has set a date for a sale event this would be a great opportunity to get the word out so folks can come back and shop. The deadline to turn in your form is noon on Friday, May 26, so get your rummage sale planned and contact the Chamber office today!

Shank Open Golf Fundraiser Plans Underway
The Forest County Chamber of Commerce is excited to tee up their 7th Annual "Shank Open" golf outing fundraiser scheduled for Friday, June 16 at the beautiful Nicolet Country Club in Laona.  The committee plans to make this the most fun and successful  fundraisers to date! As you know, the Forest County Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit and the proceeds from this event will further advance efforts to promote Forest County as a premier tourism destination.

Sponsors really stepped up and were integral to the success of last year's  fundraiser.  Several of last year's sponsors have already stopped by to reserve their sponsor level, and the Chamber is seeking to fill all the sponsor spots over the course of this month.  A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available to choose from, including  major sponsors, hole sponsors, raffle prizes and hole prizes.   Check out the sponsor form by clicking on the link below.

If you are interested in supporting this event and wish to reserve your sponsor level, please contact the Chamber office no later than May 26. That will provide time to create the sponsor displays for the event.

Also, start getting your foursome together for this event.  It's still just $79 per golfer and even more prize opportunities, fun, and merriment are planned.
