Innovative Program Exposes Students to Variety of Trade Industries

This year Pierz Students and Staff are taking part in an innovative program that allows children to work with very expensive equipment that is used in a variety of trade industries and advanced training schools. The program is called Technology Mobile. It is part of large grant process involving several districts in north central Minnesota as well as Central Lakes College (CLC) and Minnesota State College. The funding behind this initiative started with the National Joint Powers Association (NJPA) located in Staples. Several years ago, Pierz Superintendent, George Weber, and then Menahga Superintendent, Mary Klamm, were part of a NJPA advisory board that worked directly with the Leadership at NJPA to find innovative projects that could help our students in rural Minnesota.
