That's a wrap, 2017! Throughout this whirlwind of a year, and each year since ADAO's inception in 2004, our collective community has shown resilience and strength as we've fought side-by-side to raise asbestos awareness, protect the civil rights of workers and families, and advocate for a federal ban of this known carcinogen. Every accomplishment we achieved in 2017 was possible thanks to the hard work of our network of champions, including victims, physicians, researchers, educators, public health advocates, labor union members, and more.

 

In 2017, we saw the astonishing impact of our community's ongoing commitment to a world without asbestos - our social impact is on the rise (thanks to all of your support with our Thunderclap campaign!), our global leaders in Brazil are bringing us closer to life free of asbestos with their Supreme Court's monumental decision to implement a ban, and the  Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now Act has garnered more congressional support than ever before. It's hard to predict what lies ahead in the coming year, but there are a few things you can certainly anticipate from us in this new year:

Our sincere thanks to the continued generosity of the volunteers, sponsors, and donors who fuel our work and further our cause. ADAO's growth continues to reflect the development and progress together with our colleagues as we work to advance national and global ban asbestos efforts.  We excitedly look forward to continued shared success throughout 2018 and beyond.
