The Presbyterian Women of First Presbyterian Church established The Todd and Betsy Hobbie Scholarship Fund which provides annual tuition ($150 per nurse) for Congolese students of nursing at the Bulape Hospital School of Nursing through the non-profit organization Congo Helping Hands, a mission of the Presbyterian Church USA.  Through memorial donations from the congregation, The Todd and Betsy Hobbie Scholarship Fund also provides annual tuition ($2500 per doctor) for a medical doctor scholarship. The Presbyterian Women are pleased to announce that this year they will provide funding for two female nursing students for the full four year program.  If you would like to make a contribution to The Todd and Betsy Hobbie Scholarship Fund , please make checks payable to the Presbyterian Women and write "Hobbie Scholarship Fund" on the memo line.

The adopted school of our diaconate, WR Irvin Elementary, is in need of proctors for annual End of Grade testing. Testing dates occur between May 26 and June 2, and the times are 7:15 a.m. until noon each testing day.  The first 15 minutes of the day will be proctor orientation and training, with testing starting at 7:30.  Note that  A BACKGROUND CHECK IS NOT NEEDED to help with proctoring.  The school is located at 1400 Gold Rush Drive, Concord 28025. Our summer worship schedule will begin on Sunday, May 28th and continue through  Sunday, September 3rd.  We will have one worship service at  10:00 a.m. each Sunday.   Please also note that most Sunday school classes will not meet during the summer.
