Domestic Violence: The Impact of Childhood Trauma on Adults 7/25/2017, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM 

This workshop will cover types of trauma, and the relationship between domestic violence  (DV) and trauma. We will talk about the characteristics, experiences and effects DV and trauma on children in various age groups, including PTSD and its pre-school subtype, and their symptoms and stressors.

You will learn about characteristics of teen dating violence, and its relationship to victimization later in life, and the short-term and long-term effects of childhood DV experience. Finally, we will cover approaches to engaging with traumatized children, working with children who have experienced DV, and safety planning. 2.0 CEUs for licensed counselors, social workers and nurses.
