Your Presence is Needed at CCH!
IACP's Governmental Affairs team, working closely with 30+ organizations comprising the
DQSA Coalition, has made tremendous progress in the past year towards policy changes at the
Food & Drug Administration (FDA) that will restore patient access to compounded medications. They are working to protect your ability to practice compounding pharmacy!
IACP lobbyists fought hard to ensure that the massive budget bill funding the federal government for fiscal year 2017 recently passed the Congress and signed by the President earlier this month contains
strong language directing the FDA to stop regulating and inspecting compounding pharmacies as if they were drug manufacturers.
There's still a lot of work to be done.
We need hundreds of compounding pharmacists on
Capitol Hill on June 13th to educate Members of Congress about FDA's overreach and to rally our congressional champions to hold FDA to congressional intent and protect patient access to compounded medications and your ability to practice pharmacy. Additionally, your IACP team and the DQSA Coalition have been
working for months on federal legislation to "clean up" the DQSA and remove any doubt about congressional intent to retain state regulatory authority over the practice of pharmacy. We anticipate introduction of this legislation in the House in coming weeks and at CCH will be working hard to secure co-sponsors of this important bill.
Please consider registering and joining us in Washington, DC to walk the halls of Congress to protect your patients and your profession. We need your help and we need you at 2017 CCH more than ever!
