Special Education Parent Partnership Opportunity

Are you a parent of a child that receives or has received special education services?  Did you ever wish you could have had a support person  that could have helped you navigate  understanding the special education system? Here is your opportunity to be that person!  The Pasco School District Special Education Department is recruiting parents to become a  Special Education Parent Navigator.  A support person to help new parents through the special education  process.  We invite anyone who might be interested in becoming an PSD Parent Navigator to register for the training.   Upon completion of the training, you can decide if you would like to be added to the list  for as an  official parent partner. Attending the training does not require that you sign up to be an official partner.

The training will be held at the Booth Building on

-Friday, Feb. 2nd from 5-8 PM,
-Saturday, Feb. 3rd from  9 - 2 PM
Training will cover what a parent partner is, the role of the partner, and training in the IEP process.

Spanish Training will be available on
March 2nd, and 3rd. (Please contact Amber Burrows for exact time and location)

Greg Abell From Sound Options, an OSPI funded organization, will be providing this training. Pasco is thrilled to be the first school district in Eastern Washington to provide this service.

Please email or call Amber Burrows at the Special Services Office to  register [email protected]  or 509-543-6703.  Meals and snacks will be provided both Friday and Saturday . If you have further questions, please contact Tracy Wilson, Executive Director of Special Services,  at [email protected] or 509-543-6703.
