Update on Negotiations
business_handshake_men.jpg

On April 25 and 27, 2017, the District and EE Negotiations Teams met for the third and fourth negotiation sessions of the spring season.

At the April 25th session, the Teams received a presentation from the District's benefits consultant, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. regarding potential Short Term Disability insurance options. The Teams utilized this information as they continued to discuss and evaluate the Sick Leave Bank language issue. The Teams also continued to evaluate the Evaluation Process language and were able to reach a Tentative Agreement regarding amendments to the Negotiated Agreement, including a new provision to Article 17.

At the April 27th session, the Teams further evaluated the Sick Leave Bank language issue and
reached a Tentative Agreement to execute a Memorandum of Understanding that will form a
Task Force to explore transitioning from Sick Leave Bank to Short Term Disability. The Teams
then turned their focus to begin the compensation discussion by generating Story, Interests, and
Options.

The next and last negotiations session is scheduled for May 8, 2017.

Bishop and Cherrelyn Outdoor Ed Trip

6th grade students from Bishop and Cherrelyn attended an overnight field trip for an Outdoor Education Experience. On the trip, students learned outdoor survival skills, aerodynamics, perseverance and risk-taking through high ropes, and forest ecology. They also learned some life lessons about being away from home. Our students did an amazing job and we are so proud!
