Leadership Morton Deadline January 5
Leadership Morton 2018 is an affordable, local leadership program designed to instill leadership skills through discussion and examples presented by leaders throughout Central Illinois. The program begins January 11 and runs through March 29. Weekly sessions are from 8:00 - 10:00 am.

Illinois Central College is encouraging students who intend to enroll for the fall 2018 semester to apply for its scholarships. The ICC Educational Foundation offers more than 600 scholarships worth more than $750,000 to students attending in the coming academic year.  Students may apply for the scholarships
from January 15 until 11:59 pm on April 1 using the online application system.  The link will be active as of January 15.    

Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois has received a $2,000 grant from Ameren Illinois to be used for Goodwill's GoodJobs program. The GoodJobs program provides young adults, ages 16-19, with employment resources and job skills training.

The Center for Prevention of Abuse is pleased to reveal the creation of its newest department, Human Trafficking Services, led by long-time Center employee, Sara Dillefeld. Prior to this position, Dillefeld served as the Director of Domestic Violence Family Centered Services at The Center for six years.

The new tax bill that was recently signed into law doubles the standard deduction for couples filing jointly, to $24,000.  So, the big question in the minds of non-profits is, "Will this new tax law cause donors to cut back on their charitable giving?"
