Georgina Economic Development Updates
Jackson's Point Harbourfront Redevelopment Plan

The Town of Georgina has initiated a study that will result in the preparation of Jackson's Point Harbourfront Redevelopment Plan. This study area includes:  
  • Town owned lands: Lorne Park, Bonnie Park, Harbour, Bonnie Blvd (road allowance) and Malone Wharf
  • MSR Lalu Jackson's Point Inc. lands (former Bonnie Boats)
  • Ramada Hotel
  • Water Lots Associated with these properties
There are a variety of ways that you can provide feedback.  Whether it's online, by phone or in person - we want to hear from you. 
 
Public Engagement Opportunities Include: 
  • One-on-One Interviews available May 29th and May 30th
  • Public Design Charrette - June 8th and 10th 
  • Roving Information Sessions (dates to be announced)

The Town of Georgina Economic Development & Recreation staff were on hand at the Georgina Home show this past weekend. Providing information regarding anything and everything going on in Georgina. This event hosted by the Georgina Chamber of Commerce featured businesses and organizations that service the residents and businesses of Georgina.

R ide the Wind Rentals is located on the corner of Dalton Rd & Lake Drive E. in downtown Jackson's Point. Featuring bicycle/scooter rentals and scavenger hunts. They also offer retail sales of scooters and other merchandise.

National Economic Development Week May 8th to 13th.

Created by the International Economic Development Council in 2016, the goal of Economic Development Week (EDW) is to increase awareness for local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and increase the quality of life. Economic Development Week is a nationwide campaign in the United States that consists of online activities designed to highlight the importance of economic development.

Town of Georgina Economic Development & Community Betterment Grants.

The purpose of this Grant Program is to provide funds to support festivals and events that are aligned with the ongoing initiatives being undertaken by the Economic Development and Tourism Division. Eligible events, festivals and programs are those that assist with enhancing the identity of, and create an economic impact within the community. These events will also support the development of the Town's Cultural Plan and create an increased awareness of opportunities available in Georgina.  
 
Anyone interested in the grant program is asked to contact Cristina Liu to review the proposed submission and application process before submitting an application.
