Stay up to date!
From Sunday's message:

When we were kids, we were like Riley (in the movie Inside Out) and let out our anger out. When we grow up we don't always do that.
Why don't we confront the person who made us angry? Some of us have learned not to do that! Instead, we tend to hold onto our anger. And we let it come out in what we think are "acceptable" ways.
We all know what happens then.  If we don't deal with it Anger can hurt us.  We have medical problems, it causes us to be late, we are short with our friends and family. Generally, when we repress Anger, things get messed up.
In Paul's Letter, the church in Ephesus is getting instructions about changing the way Christians deal with anger. Paul wants them to understand that the power of the Holy Spirit can help them.
Paul gave them some interesting advice.

En Agape',
Rev. Michael Weeks

In the Community
Thursday, May 4th is the National Day of Prayer. There will once again be an informal gathering for prayer at mid-day, 12:15 pm, on the grounds of the Ashland Municipal building. This mid-day observance has been held annually for over 25 years. People simply stand in a circle and pray for our nation, state and community.
All are welcome.

Hello Friends of HopeTree,

It's a busy season for those of us who work with children. It is also a great time to recognize and pray for those in the foster care system.  I wanted to let you know about a few opportunities:
  1. May is National Foster Care Month.  During this month I encourage you to pray for children in foster care, for their biological families, and for foster and adoptive families.
  2. Our Foster Parent Orientation will be on May 2nd for anyone interested in being involved.  We are constantly in need of families who are willing to open their homes to children in need.
Thank you for your support and prayers.  We couldn't do the work we do without partners like you.

Blessings on you,
Abigail Schreiner, MSW
