Memorial Garden Pavilion Dedication
Sunday, April 30 was a special day in the life of Slash Christian Church when the Memorial Garden and Pavilion were dedicated. We gathered for a potluck following the dedication and enjoyed the beautiful views from the Pavilion.
Prayer for the Garden
O God,
We close our worship today remembering some good people who made ministry happen over the years at Slash Christian Church. Their ministry for you made our church strong in the faith and witness to the Hanover community.
Today we remember the ministry of Hanover Avenue Christian Church as it continues through their generous gift. May your spirit continue to help and guide as we celebrate Hanover Avenue in the Memorial Garden. We also remember Betty Lee Miller, Beverly Vaughan, and Rose Jennings who had a vision for this garden and made it happen through their planning and good stewardship. We also remember Frank Jennings who loved Rose and gave the bench in the garden that is dedicated to her.
We pray, O God, that you would use this Memorial Garden as a holy place where people can come and find you. AMEN
Prayer for the Pavilion
Almighty God, whom the heavens cannot contain, we gather today in this new home of worship and play on the sacred grounds of Slash Christian Church. We set this Pavilion apart from use as a sanctuary of Your presence, where we may gather for worship, study, play and fellowship; a place where we can experience your presence in the outdoors; where we may come in quiet meditation, in prayer and find you; We thank you for the giving us this pavilion so that we can use it to increase the reach of our ministry on behalf of you.
As we get ready to eat, we thank you for all the blessing you have given to us and for the food we will share together. Bless it and the hands that have prepared it. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. Amen.
