Join us at the 2018 State of the Chapter & Social on January 9th as we kick off programming for the year!
This FREE event - open to members and non-members - is one of the highlights of our year.

This year's event will be held in Saint Louis University's newest residence hall, Grand Hall, located on the corner of Grand and Laclede. The building has various sustainable features, including a white roof to combat Urban Heat Island Effect, LED lighting for all major areas, low VOC products for paints, sealants, adhesives, and flooring systems, and a food pulper to increase the density of food waste that can be composted.

This full-day workshop will examine the concepts and goals of sustainable and regenerative land design via the Sustainable SITES Initiative. The SITES Rating System is a set of guidelines and performance-based metrics that align land development and management with innovative sustainable design.

On January 27, 2017, the City of St. Louis Board of Aldermen unanimously passed an energy benchmarking ordinance that requires municipal, institutional, commercial, and multifamily residential buildings who square footage is equal to or greater than 50,000 to track and report their energy and water usage annually to the City's Building Division. Full details of the Building Energy Awareness Ordinance are available at www.stlbenchmarking.com.
Privately owned buildings are required to benchmark and submit data by April 1, 2018 using the free, online tool ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manger.

Intern with USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter
The U.S. Green Building Council - Missouri Gateway Chapter seeks an energetic and skilled part-time intern with a wide range of administrative, organizational, and technical skills to assist with general Chapter operations. The internship position will report to the Education & Green Schools Manager and support the activities of the Chapter's volunteer-led committees.

Green Shadow Mentorship Program
Green Shadow is a mentorship program developed by the USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter Higher Education committee to expose students and emerging professionals to green jobs within the Missouri Gateway territory through an informational interview, half day shadow, or one day shadow of local business people. Participating companies get access to local students interested in the industry without the financial commitment of an internship.
We are looking for Mentors and Shadows to participate in the Green Shadow program. Apply by February 9th, 2018 at 11:59 pm to be matched in the Spring 2018 semester.
