Bellaire Choir Receives Highest Ratings in San Antonio
Over seventy choral students traveled to San Antonio on, Friday, April 7 to compete in the American Classic Music Festival: Blue Bonnet Classic. Bellaire took four choirs and every single choir received the highest Division1 rating! Congrats to all choir students who represented Bellaire!

Girls Softball Wins District
Girls Softball are the 2017 District 18-6 A champions!They defeated Lamar 8-0 and sealed the deal Thursday night.  The Lady Cardinals remain undefeated in district play!

UIL Essay State Finalist
Robert Brown, a junior at Bellaire, is as state finalist in the UIL Barbara Jordan Historical Essay Contest. This is a huge honor and we wish him luck in the final round of the competition. #CardinalProud
Scholastic National Medalist
Congrats to Lucas Martins for his Silver Medal in the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. 1% of 330,000 submissions were recognized at the national level! He has been invited to attend a ceremony at the world-famous Carnegie Hall and to participate in showcase events at Parsons School for Design at The New School and Pratt Institute's Pratt Manhattan Gallery in New York. We are  #CardinalProud

Belle Ball 2017
The 2017 Belle Ball honored Belle seniors. Congratulations to  Mister and Miss Belle of the Ball,  Jamaal Lockings and Wendy Ayala. 
PAT Meeting
The Project Advisory Team will meet April 24th at 4pm in the Bellaire Library to continue to work on the design of the new building.  All meetings are open to the public.
STAAR Tutorials for Algebra 1 Students
Great opportunity to review for the Algebra 1 STAAR Exam. Tutorials will be offered 8 th period for our Algebra 1 students, starting Monday, April 17 th.  The tutorials will be once a day for  8 days: April 17-20; April 24-27.  See your Algebra 1 teacher for more details!
Incoming Magnet, Private School and IB Course Selection
The Counseling Department will be conducting course selection next week at the following times:
Incoming 9th Grade Magnet Student Course Selection - April 25th at 4pm in the MPR
Incoming 9th Grade student from private schools and students on IB transfers - April 27 at 4pm in the MPR.
Dual Credit Opportunity - Deadline Approaching
The deadline to register for Dual Credit courses in April 28th! Prospective dual-credit students: even if you have signed up for dual-credit classes with your counselors, you must also enroll as an HCC student. In order to do so, please see Ms. Anderson in room 315, Mrs. Green in room 352, or Dr. Waller in room 126. Bring your laptop and social security number. Space is limited, so act now!

Volunteering Opportunity - We Need Some Help
Mr. Schaaf is looking for parent volunteers to proctor AP Exams.
Morning shifts are 7:30 - noonish.  Afternoon shifts are 11:45 to 4:00 ish.
Proctors must be able to stay for an entire shift.  Proctors may not work an exam being taken by a member of their household.

Duties include; assisting with getting students seated, monitoring the exam, and helping pick up exam materials.

Cellphone use is not allowed in the testing room.  Most of the time is spent walking quietly around the room trying not to be noticed by students.
Perfect Schedule and Reserved Parking Place Auction

PTO Class of 2018 will be giving you a chance to bid for theses two items beginning on Friday, April 28 th at 6 am and ending on Friday, May 5 th at 8 pm

All proceeds from the auction go to the Class of 2018 After Prom.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
Every year in May the PTO sponsors an end of the year teacher's luncheon. It is held in the BHS cafeteria and catered by a local restaurant.  We would like to present each teacher with a gift basket or a gift card to a local store, restaurant, or tickets to a local game. Decision Day!
We will be celebrating Decision Day on April 27 th at lunch in the auditorium! This is a time to celebrate all the hard work that you've put into the college application process.
 
There will be $3000 worth of raffles and refreshments, thank you to Bellaire PTO. Raffles will include electronics, dorm essentials and gift cards. All students that RSVP will be entered in the raffle.

The Bellaire Senior Prom is being held Saturday, May 13th at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Students who attend the prom are also invited to attend the After Prom free of charge. It will be held in the Museum lobby area. It is an exciting, casual, fun event that includes casino games, arcade games, breakfast foods and thousands of dollars worth of prizes. In order to provide the After Prom, we need your help. Volunteers are needed to help us that night. It will be easy and fun!
