Assalaamalaikum Dear Community,
Hope you have a blessed beginning to the new year of 2018,
InshaAllah in 2018, Rahma along with our beautiful community will strive to fulfill the Hadith of Prophet Mohammed(sas), Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'as (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: A man asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): "Which act in Islam is the best?" He (ﷺ) replied, "To give food, and to greet everyone, whether you know or you do not." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
This will be done by serving those who are less fortunate. We will be serving people at three different locations. We have chosen these locations in order to serve a more diverse population and with the intention of not overburdening our community.
How can you help
As always, this project will need your continued support through donating, preparing food, and volunteering. Please note that any individual who needs volunteering hours can greatly benefit from this program. All the pre-made food, food donations, and volunteer meets will happen at ICGC at the specific time outlined below.
Shazadi Khaja and Isra Malik will be leading and coordinating this program. Please note each serving has specific needs and your support will be greatly appreciate.

We will be serving at the these three locations:
1) First United Methodist Church in Butler County - InshaAllah we will serve Lunch starting January 20th and need volunteers from 8:30 am -1:30 pm, our plan is to serve every other month (i.e. March, May, July, Sept, Nov). The needs for this program is preparing Pasta, chicken and Dinner rolls ahead of time. We will need 20 volunteers.
2) Cincinnati Homeless shelter (both Men and Women) - We will serve breakfast starting Feb 18th from 6:00 am - 8:00 am and will serve every other month (April, June, Aug, Oct, Dec). The needs for this serving is breakfast items such as Milk, Croissants, eggs, fresh fruit and juice. We will also need volunteer to make eggs onsite.
3) Over the Rhine - serving in collaboration with OTR masjd, A standard meal (chicken and rice) is served first Sunday of every month at 1:00pm. Only pre-made large trays of chicken and rice dish are needed.
