CBT Basics 

Welcome to CBT Basics, the first in a series of CBT workshops that Providers for Healthy Living will be offering over the next year. In this first workshop we will be discussing the theoretical basis for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and how to conceptualize cases within this frame work. We will discuss goal development strategies, as well as how to structure therapy sessions. We will introduce strategies for identifying automatic thoughts, and utilizing thought records. Strategies for behavioral activation will also be addressed. We will explore issues of compliance and resistance, as well as termination of therapy. Please join us for this hands on, interactive training. This four hour training can be counted as part of the 40 hours of education required for a certification in Cognitive Therapy. 
Please join us for a 4 hour continuing education training approved for Social Workers, Counselors AND Psychologists.

Presenters
  • Dr. Matthew Lowe is the Medical Director of Providers for Healthy Living. Dr. Lowe has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings and has specialty training in mood disorders, ADHD and other disruptive behavior disorders, PTSD, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, autistic disorders, cognitive behavior therapy,  and group therapies. Dr. Lowe is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc.
  • Emily Rose Talbott, LISW-S, is the Clinical Director at Providers For Healthy Living. Emily is certified in Cognitive Therapy and is a diplomat of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Emily specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD. 
  • Monica Feller, LISW-S, is the Clinical Supervisor at Providers for Healthy Living. Monica is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, specifically Trauma-Focused CBT, and specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, trauma and OCD. 
Continuing Education Credits: This program qualifies for 4 hours of CEU credit for Social Workers, Professional Counselors and Psychologists.
