Happy New Year Cough
Sniffling, Sneezing, Coughing Season

For those around the country, cold season might refer to the outdoor temperature. And it is cold around the country. Here in Southern California, it means a different thing...coughing and sniffling. Two people from my church had to visit emergency rooms this Christmas season. One waited 6 ho urs, the other 10 hours.  Hospitals are filling up. It seems the flu season is here early.
While on our Israel trip, I had a cough that never went away, but my voice did. I tried everything. I tried everything offered: vitamin C,  cough medicine, cough drops, essential oils, chiropractic adjustments and plenty of water.  Thanks for those who tried to help. Doctors' advice is best. Following their instructions, there is hope for health to arrive soon.
S everal times, either directly or indirectly, Christ alludes to Himself as a physician. (Luke 5:31)
I appreciate the knowledge of our medical community, but sometimes even they are amazed at what happens. And sometimes it ends up not as we hoped. But God gives us hope. This year, we as Christians, can rest well that Jesus has given us the prescriptions for what's best for our lives, and we need to follow that advice diligently for the best 2018 possible. Read the Bible, go to church, tithe, use your gifts, be an ambassador for Christ, love God and serve others.
Good prescriptions.

Have a good year.

Thanks for the Goats
Goats for Evangelical Churches in Bangladesh

Thank you for the generous contributions to help our CBGlobal partner churches in Bangladesh. Their goal is to fund their churches and various ministries with the raising of goats, which will provide profits from the sale of milk and goats. We were able to help start their herd of goats with a gift of 20 goats, 15 of them were provided by San Antonio Heights Community Church in Upland! If you'd like to give a last-minute donation to provide a goat, click here. From our partners in Bangladesh, thank you!

Memorable Trip to Israel
Holy Land Tour

Our tour group thoroughly enjoyed Pacific Church Network's 2017 Holy Land Tour. Nineteen wonderful people journeyed across Israel for an experience of a lifetime. Not only did we see the land of the Bible, we experienced the day that USA recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital while in Jerusalem.  PCN will announce their next tour at our annual meeting this month.

Hope Again
Withdraws from Merger

Executive Director of Hope Again, Ross Lokken, writes that "while there was good discussion, hopeful plans and much learned in the process, the board of Hope Again felt they could no longer pursue a possible merger that was being discussed."  Hope Again continues to reach those experiencing homelessness with the wholeness of the gospel and appreciates those who partner with their ministry.

Book Donations
100's of Books given to a Chinese Seminary

Henan Seminary in Zhengzhou asked for book donations so they can be  approved to  begin offering a Bac helor's degree program. They needed to secure a certain number of volumes in their l ibrary to be approved. Thanks to Redemption Hill Church in Whittier, First Baptist Church in Oceanside and San Antonio Heights in Upland, who joined Taylor University, the Billy Graham Association and other organization to make this happen. We appreciate your time and effort to make your donation possible.  How often do you have a chance to influence the Chinese leaders of tomorrow? Thanks.
