Looking ahead...
Senior finals begin Friday, May 12. The senior final schedule is as follows:
May 12: 7th period final - 1:10 - 2:10 p.m.
May 15: 1st period final - 8:55 - 9:55 a.m., 2nd period final - 10 - 11 a.m. 
May 16: 3rd period final - 1:10 - 2:10 p.m., 4th period final - 2:15 - 3:15 p.m. 
May 17: 5th period final - 7:50 - 8:50 a.m., 6th period final - 8:55 - 9:55 a.m. 

Classroom teachers are available during Zero period from 7:15 - 7:45 a.m., during homeroom or after school from 3:15 - 3:45 p.m. for students who need assistance. National Honors Society support is available too. See Guidance for details.

Students: Please cross where you see orange crossing cones on Crittenden Ave., and 
remember to look both ways when crossing the street.
We remind all drivers to watch their speed when driving north or south on Crittenden Ave. Please be patient when crossing or driving on Crittenden Ave. during the morning drop-off period. Thank you!
Ambassador Applications are due May 1
Students interested in serving as a student ambassador for Bishop Chatard High School are encouraged to sign up for the ambassador program. There are two parts to the application:
1. Online application (emailed to students on April 24). View the application here
2. Handwritten note to a grade school teacher (this needs to be a handwritten note that is completed and submitted to the main office)

Checking Grades and Preparing for Back-to-School Documents
Now is a perfect time to log in to the Parent Portal of PowerSchool at https://bishopchatard.powerschool.com/public/. Please check your child’s grades and see if there is any missing work. Be sure to write down your username and password, because you will need to log in to the Parent Portal to fill out the Back-to-School documents in August. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, click the “Forgot Username or Password?” on the PowerSchool login screen. You should receive an email shortly after submitting the form from “BishopChatard@PowerSchool.com” with instructions with how to reset.  Check your spam folder or make sure to whitelist the email address above so that you receive it. If you are still having trouble logging in, please email Ame Alerding at aalerding@bishopchatard.org.

Leave your graduate’s legacy and pave the way for Trojan fans! Personalized brick pavers mark the pathway into Bishop Chatard’s athletic stadium, permanently recording your place in Bishop Chatard’s history. All proceeds benefit Bishop Chatard’s Annual Fund, providing tuition assistance for students. 8:30 - 11 p.m.
All students must arrive by 9 p.m. and may leave at 10:30 p.m.  There will be no post-prom activities at the school following prom.

BCHS Varsity Gym
Celebration of the Arts is free and open to the public! The event will include an art and photography show beginning at 6:30 p.m., featuring work from our talented student artists and photographers. Then at 7 p.m., the BCHS Band, Concert Choir, and The Sounds of Silas will perform.  Come out and celebrate our outstanding student artists and musicians!

Summer Work Study
Sign up for summer work study is now available. Fill out the preference form here Reminder, preference is given  to returning students who show a greater financial aid need. Please email Dan Thompson, dthompson@bishopchatard.org, with questions. 

Tuition must be paid in full by May 1
All tuition accounts must be paid in full by May 1 for a student to sit for exams and return to school in August. If your student is a senior, he/she will not be able to participate in graduation and receive final transcripts if the account is not clear. 
If you have questions about your balance or would like to discuss your account, please contact Karen Feeney in the Tuition Office, kfeeney@BishopChatard.org or 317-251-1451 ext. 2238, as soon as possible. If you already have payment arrangements on FACTS beyond May 1, you do not need to contact the Tuition Office unless you have additional questions.

Career Interest Survey
A Career Interest Survey through the Exploring program will be administered to freshmen through juniors during homeroom during the month of May. Exploring is a career exploration program that allows a student to job shadow at companies such as Eli Lilly, Raytheon, Riley Hospital and many more opportunities based on career interests. Participants are invited to learn about careers from the experts in each field and gain experience for resumés. Please keep an eye out for future communication from Exploring in your mailbox this summer. 

ISTEP Testing
I STEP testing began on April 18 and will continue through May 5. All sophomores will take the English and Math tests. All Biology students will take the Science test. Please be sure your student is present for this important graduation requirement.  
Class of 2017 Parents
Uniforms
Please consider passing along your gently used uniform items for the next generation. Donations of used items are accepted in the Athletic Office. Funds generated support Trinity Club-sponsored teacher-appreciation meals. 

NCAA Division I or II Schools 
As of April 1, students who plan to enroll full time at an NCAA Division I or II school this Fall (2017) will be able to request their final amateurism certification. Students must have a registered Certification Account and an enrollment period of Fall 2017 to request. You can learn more information about amateurism certification here . If you need to update your enrollment period, you can do so easily in your account.

During the month of April, the Spirit Shoppe is offering Buy One Item, Get Second Item 50% off (the lesser item). Uniform sweatshirts excluded.  Spirit Shoppe hours, with our valued volunteers, are during students’ lunch hours, generally 11:30-1 p.m. Other times are available. Used Uniform Sale
Monday, June 5 ~ 5 - 7 p.m.
Trinity Club is hosting the Annual Used Uniform Sale Monday, June 5, in the BCHS cafeteria from 5 - 7 p.m. Uniform items are $5 each and vintage Spiritwear is $5 or less. Payment at this sale is check or cash only. Congratulations Margaret Nickerson
Congratulations to senior Margaret Nickerson, who was recently named one of the 2017 Indiana Regional Academic All-Stars! Margaret was one of 50 Indiana Regional Academic All-Stars selected from a field of 266 outstanding nominees from the state’s private and public accredited schools. Regional Academic All-Star distinction recognizes seniors who excel in the classroom first and foremost, but who also are actively involved in their schools and communities, and take on leadership roles in those activities. Cakes & Community Pancake Breakfast
Christ the King Parish and School
Sunday, April 30 ~ 9 a.m. - noon

All are invited to attend a fun morning of food and cooking entertainment at Christ the King! Pancake caterer Chris Cakes of Indiana will be featuring their fun and unique "Pancake Process" as seen on the Food Network! Christ the King will also showcase some of the great things going on at their school during this event.  Cost: $5 per person (children ages 2 and under are free, max $25/ family)
