SAFETY: A TOP PRIORITY FOR CFX

Crew from SEMA Construction holds a weekly safety meeting.

CFX continues its goal of safety as a top priority for both the traveling public and its workers.

Contractors working on CFX roads hold weekly safety meetings. Workers make sure everything is stored and cleaned properly before they leave the site each day to prevent trip hazards and equipment malfunction. They also highlight changing project conditions like increased traffic or a traffic switch to alert workers to potential hazards on the project.

Click here  for safety tips on driving in severe weather, more information on our free road ranger service, and what to do in case of an emergency when driving on CFX roadways.

YOUR TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK

Upgrades are planned on half of the Central Florida Expressway Authority's (CFX) 118-miles of roadways to improve customers' travel along CFX expressways.

CFX's $1.6 billion Work Plan  includes 60 miles of road resurfacing projects. As part of that effort, crews are wrapping up resurfacing projects on State Roads 408, 417 and 429 and renewal projects continue on SR 528. More resurfacing projects will begin in the upcoming months.

GIVING BACK
Collecting holiday gifts for children and teens in our community has been a long standing holiday tradition at CFX. This holiday, we collected gifts under the tree in the lobby of CFX Headquarters for Toys for Tots.

IN THE COMMUNITY
CFX Senior Communications Specialist Brian Hutchings, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings and I-4 Ultimate PIO David Parks pictured at the Orange County Sheriff's Office 2017 Leadership and Management Training on Dec. 4 where Hutchings updated Sheriff's Office personnel on roadway construction projects.

We had fun promoting KnightPass to UCF fans at their game against Memphis on Dec. 2.

We're excited to partner again this year with  Light Up UCF and promote KnightPass.  Light Up UCF features ice skating, rides, and holiday attractions. It runs through December 31. Click here for more information.
