This spring marked the fourth year that the Northeast Tarrant Tennis (NETT) Association has offered tennis lessons for our Village Library students. The lessons alternate so that each semester, either our Monday/Wednesday students or our Tuesday/Thursday students have the opportunity to participate.
For the spring session, 13 students participated. Four students were new to the tennis program, so they received a brand-new racket and balls from NETT. Students are encouraged to use the racket and balls to continue practicing the game with their friends or family at our public parks throughout the summer. To further encourage them to continuing playing the sport, several individuals donated their slightly-used tennis equipment to the student's parents, so they could enjoy the sport with their children.
For the first time this year, NETT offered four scholarships to Village Library students for a week of free tennis lessons at the Hurst Tennis Center. We are grateful for this generous gift which will help our students stay active and engaged this summer.
