The CAAHEP Annual Meeting is just around the corner, and we hope you are getting ready for a great time in Atlanta, April 23-24. The Annual Business Meeting announcement and meeting material was distributed electronically last week. If you have not received your copy, please let me know. The meeting material and agenda is posted on the CAAHEP website.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone and having your participation in the sessions. Please see the session highlights below.
Approved Standards
Two sets of Standards were approved at the March Board meeting. The Standard and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Clinical Research were approved. This is the first set of Standards for the profession. The Standards and Guidelines for Accreditation of Educational Programs for Recreational Therapy were updated and approved as well. All CAAHEP Standards can be found on the CAAHEP website.
Annual Report
In case you missed it, please check out the
2015-16 Annual Report has been posted to the
CAAHEP website. This year, the Annual Report celebrates the "Faces of CAAHEP."
Please join us in welcoming
Howard Odom, MD, the new CAAHEP Commissioner for the
American Society of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Odom replaces David Varlotta as Commissioner.

7 Annual Meeting Highlights
The 2017 CAAHEP Annual Meeting will be held at
the JW Marriott
Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia. The meeting's theme is
"Quality Improvement vs. Quality Assurance: Can we be both Counselors and Cops?"

There will be a presentation about "
ChangeMed: An initiative of the AMA to Accelerate Change in Medical Education," from

, Director, Medical Education Collaborations, And, we will hear from a panel of employers during a session entitled: "
