The Texas Maritime Museum will celebrate
Memorial Day weekend

May 20 - 10am - ADA Kayak Site Grand Opening - Aransas Pathways will open its first ADA Compliant kayak site, located in Lamar along Lamar Beach Road, at the County Ramp. Public is invited.The launch is in the North Corner of the facility. Kayaks are set up on a roller bed om the floating launch site and rolled into the water. Returning kayakers can pull themselves back onto the roller bed using the handles provided. Site has ADA parking and discharge area.
May 26 - 10am Dedication of the Connie Hagar Cottage Sanctuary, Church and First streets in south Rockport.
The Dedication of the Connie Hagar Cottage Sanctuary will be sponsored by Aransas Pathways and the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. Trails throughout the Sanctuary are ready for visitors and signs illustrating plants and birds will make identification easy. The story of Connie Hagar and her contributions as a "citizen scientist" will be told in interpretive signs. Foundations for the Rockport Cottages that the Hagars owned and managed are visible and explained in diagrams.

Coffee with Connie at the Connie Hagar Cottage Sanctuary, Church and First streets in south Rockport. Enjoy coffee and snacks while you learn about Connie Hagar, citizen scientist;
"Coffee with Connie" will feature Nature Walks at 9:30, 10, and 10:30 as well as Plein Aire painting by artists in the gardens. Becky Stapleton will lead small groups to learn "field drawing" of plants (supplies provided). Several organizations will have displays related to birds and nature,
walk the trails to see birds in the wild; and identify plants and flowers that invite butterflies and birds to the site.
Rockport Center for the Arts
FREE Family Saturdays. 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. every Saturday. The program is free and open to everyone. Families are invited to drop in any time between 10 and 3:30 to get creative and make a one-of-a-kind work of art. The projects are new and different each week. Fulton Mansion State Historic Site
Rising above the Aransas Bay and surrounded by stately live oaks, Fulton Mansion State Historic Site is located in the resort area of Rockport-Fulton. The house must have appeared incredible in 1877, as it does today, with its mansard roof and ornate trim. Interior gas lighting, flush-toilets, and other refinements were progressive and luxurious elements for this part of Texas history.
