This Sunday at Christ Church
Please Join Us for Our Epiphany Celebration
We will have special music and a visit from the Three Kings (high school choristers), who each process up the aisle bringing their gift before singing a solo from the hymn of the same name.

Children  accompany the Three Kings up the aisle as their Royal entourage.
The children will dress in costumes and carry gifts, which will be food items for the Food Pantry, wrapped in silver and gold.

After the service the celebration continues with King's Cakes and other goodies. Children finding a jelly bean in their piece of cake get to wear (and keep) a golden, jewel-encrusted crown. Children may also join in on special Epiphany arts and crafts during the reception. The Three Kings will be circulating as well.

Please join us for Epiphany, the last day of Christmas!
Compline Update
In the Fall of 2012, we moved the 11:30AM service to Sunday Evening and adopted Sung Compline with Communion as our Evening Service.  The reason for the change was lack of attendance at the late morning service.  Sadly, we find ourselves in the same position now in regard to Sung Compline.  As a result, we are putting this service on hiatus for the Winter and Spring.  We have tried a variety of options to attract worshipers over the years, including offering a chef prepared meal in conjunction with the service.  Attendance has now reached an unsustainable level.

Nadia and I are happy to speak with any parishioners who would like to start a Sunday evening service in September.

Peace,  Christopher

Food Pantry First - This Sunday
Sunday is our next day to support The New Trier Township Food Pantry. For January we will be collecting the following items:
  •  Coffee & tea (smaller sizes, please)
  •  Soups & Chili
  •  Baking items (flour, sugar, cake/cookie/brownie mixes/pie crusts)
  •  Spices & seasonings
If you forget to add to your shopping cart that week, don't despair! We will have items for purchase in the Prevost Cloister after both services.

Help us help the pantry start 2018 fully stocked to help our community members who rely on their services!!

"A Gift that Endures Creates a Church that Endures"

Have you remembered Christ Church in your will or estate plan?  Over 20
parishioners have informed us they have.  Will you consider joining them?
A gift from your estate is a gift that continues to benefit the mission of Christ Church beyond your lifetime. We all want the parish to grow and thrive beyond our lifetimes; an enduring gift helps fulfill that hope.

A Just Harvest - Needs Your Help

Tuesday, January 9

Christ Church serves twice a month at A Just Harvest, a community kitchen in Rogers
Park, serving dinner 365 days a year to anyone in need. This is a great family
opportunity to "reach out." We need cooks (done in your home), servers (age 12+), and people to provide milk, fruit, and salad each time we are "on deck."

If you have any questions please contact Suzie Peregrine or Jenny Smith .
