2017 Catholic Stewardship Appeal

Music Library
We all love the music at St. Matthias!  In order to keep the music ministry going and to have fresh selections, there must be sheet music for the musicians to use.  St. Matthias has a large music collection, but over the years the sheet music had become a bit unorganized.  Sue Partin and Kimber Gerber, longtime members of St. Matthias, who are both also cantors and members of the Adult Choir, jumped in to help organize and catalog the sheet music owned by the Parish.

Why Do Catholics...
Light Candles

Jesus said that he was the Light of the World and that He came to shine a light for a dark and sin-filled world. His Light was Truth exposing the sin that hid in the blackness.

Festival Raffle Basket
Donations Needed
The Parish Festival is quickly approaching and we are preparing for the raffle.  In the past the raffle has made the parish a significant amount of money and to continue that success we need your help.  We are in need of monetary donations (no amount too small or too big) or new, unused items that can be raffled off.  Please make donations to the Parish office or to Julie Webb.  Thank you! If you have any questions or wish to help, please contact Julie Webb at [email protected]  or 414-861-6750.
Memory issues, Dementia & Alzheimer's disease
We all forget somethings at times but, when a person can no longer remember ordinary things it is called dementia.

Dementia can be very upsetting often the person does not know they are forgetting things. They may cover for years and hide their memory issues.

Matthew 5:14-16

You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.

The Communications Committee is looking for working members.  This is an active ministry that works with our web site, Facebook page and E-Newsletter.  The committee meets in the parish office conference room the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM we are usually finished by 8:30 PM.  You don't have to be a techno wiz; if you love to write and report on parish activities we welcome you.  We need you to help bring the story of St. Mathias Parish forward.  If you are interested, please call the parish office (414) 321-0893 or e-mail.

Parish Profile: A Closer Look at our Sister Parish, St. Mary of the Angels (Santa Maria de Los Angeles) in  Aramberri, Mexico

We have all heard of people throughout the world who are poor in material possessions, but have great inner peace, happiness, and Faith.  These examples can seem remote and removed from our own experience, but we have a strong example within our parish family---our sister parish, St. Mary of the Angels, in Aramberri, Mexico.
