Mission Moment


This year's 5K for God has a new look. Students from Holy Rosary, St. James, St. John's, and St. Michael's were invited to submit an original design for the race t-shirt and event promotion. Madden Stone, 2nd grader at Holy Rosary, was selected as the winner of this year's contest. Now in its sixth year, the race has generated over $25k in support for the Duluth Catholic schools. Registration is still open and more information can be found at 5K for God Saturday April 29 Thank you Knights of Columbus for generously supporting Catholic education.
School Spirit Shines at Stella Maris Academy

Over 100 nominations were received for the Stella Maris Academy Mascot and School Colors. There were over 50 different suggestions that came in for mascots, as well as a wide variety of color combinations. The submissions are now being narrowed based upon the following criteria in preparation for student voting in mid-May. 
 
Criteria considerations for the new SMA mascot and colors includes:
  • connection to the Catholic Faith
  • connection to the Stella Maris name
  • originality
  • relatable for the students in meaningful connection
  • clarity (not misconstrued or misrepresented)
  • instills school spirit in Stella Maris Academy

The Invitation is Open

Thank you to all of the families-current and new-who have registered to date for the 2017-2018 school year. Almost 500 students are registered for prekindergarten through grade 8 at the three campuses.

It is Stella Maris Academy's desire to provided education for all. To that end SMA offers Community Support Scholarships, which are intended to assist families in need of additional financial support to attend. Applications are due May 1st for the first round of processing.   More information can be found here.
