Day of Caring:

Could you or someone you know use some help this summer with outdoor or indoor fix up/clean up projects? United Way's annual Day of Caring event is a one day county-wide day of service that just may be the help you're looking for! 500 volunteers came together in 2016 to complete almost 50 projects throughout our county. These projects included but were not limited to: painting, landscaping, outside repairs, hedge and tree trimming, raking, mulching, staining decks, building ramps, washing windows, and planting/moving flowers.

In an effort to promote volunteerism with the younger population, United Way of DeKalb County pushed Day of Caring forward to June in 2016. The idea was to inspire students to volunteer during one day of their summer break. If you know any students interested in volunteering, or who may have a volunteer requirement, have them get in touch with United Way!

Applications for projects as well as volunteers are available now on our website or by walk in at our office located at 208 S. Jackson St. in Auburn. They are due by Friday, May 12th! Please spread the word to help ensure that the people who need our help most are aware of our event!

If you have any questions regarding Day of Caring please get in touch with Brooke Wyant at
