There are bright spots in all the hurry of spring outfitting. The nest box Capt. Doug put up a few years ago at the shipyard is finally inhabited by a pair of osprey.  More pictures as their family grows, hopefully.
June cruises are the best times for watching sea ducks before most of them head north for the summer, nesting eagles and osprey, seals and their often curious pups, and right and humpback whales during our adventure to Stellwagen Bank and  Sail Boston.

Crew's News

Well, we hauled the schooner out on April 2nd and enjoyed eight hours of painting weather over four days.  Inspected, new propeller, new zincs, and a thousand dollars worth of bottom paint; here ready to back in the water early morning.

Tyler working the propeller shaft out so we could change the cutlass bearing.

Christa chasing the paint around under the quarter while rigged out with a gas mask. Note the lack of blue sky in the background. Sarah painted the draft mark, eleven feet to the bottom of the keel from the bottom of the number. New propeller is not on yet, but soon.

Gray, white, red. Sarah, Tyler and Chris, the painting trio.

Nice reconditioned Luke prop, 25 diameter, 25 pitch; but left-handed.  Made
maneuvering back to our berth a bit counterintuitive as forward was now
reverse, and reverse now forward on the shifter.
