More Calls for Recreational Space
in the Industrial Corridor

I'm pleased to report that our call for more athletic fields in the Industrial Corridor is joined by my colleague Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd) and more community groups and organizations including Wicker Park Committee and  Chicago Sport and Social Club, representing more than 100,000 young adults who compete in leagues across the city.

Some of the 1300 kids from Oz Park Baseball Association on Opening Day last Saturday.
Organizations like Oz Park Baseball Association  say they have run out of places to play and have to limit enrollment.

Comments close soon, so please show your support for more open space in the North Branch Industrial Corridor to [email protected] . And please plan on attending the May 18th Chicago Plan Commission meeting in City Hall to show your support and voice your comments about this once in a lifetime opportunity to secure critically needed recreational space.

Lincoln Park High - Definitely Something to Brag About

In the latest U.S. News and World Report list of top schools in the state, Lincoln Park High School is now ranked # 8 in Illinois !

Perhaps even more impressive, LPHS is the highest ranked non-selective enrollment school in the city, and 3rd in the state.  This is important because in contrast to selective enrollment schools, Lincoln Park's high ranking is earned with an incredibly diverse school population that includes students who perform at all different levels - what high schools should be.   See the article  here .
