AFC's 10th annual exhibit  to beautiful Vancouver, Canada - a one-of-a-kind, international cultural event supporting and celebrating nature.  In 2017, AFC is thrilled to announce a partnership with a new venue - Van Dusen Botanical Garden - November 9-12, 2017.

Van Dusen Botanical Garden is another one of Vancouver's top attractions and most naturally stunning venues. Centrally located, the facility features a 55-acre garden of 7300 plants with a state-of-the-art "living building" visitor centre, and its satellite facility a few blocks away - the Bloedel Conservatory - a domed "biosphere" featuring 3 biomes, more than 200 free-flying exotic birds, and over 500 exotic plants and flowers, within its climate-controlled environment. Each year, many AFC artists travel from around the world to take part in this very special gathering. It's a unique opportunity to connect with the art and conservation community and for members to connect with each other. The 2017 AFC Artists Prospectus is ready to download and we are now accepting submissions through May 26.

NEXT GENERATION AFC WEBSITE
Approximately 1/4 of members will have received access to their next-generation  website, which includes many powerful new features, optimized for all major browsers, mobile devices and standardized on high-resolution images, support for video, social media and much, much more.

So far the response from members has been excellent overall. We are scheduling access individually to each members' site with basic content (as a few sample images, biography, artist statement, etc.). You should expect spending 1-3 hours to complete transferring your new site, assuming you have high-quality images ready to upload.

Scheduling for transitioning members is on a first-come-first-served basis. To this end, we have provided a sign up form which we will use to establish a priority sequence.

All members' existing sites on natureartists.com will remain active, but over the coming months, as most members transition, we will be increasingly adjusting to direct visitors to the new and much richer sites.

TOURING EXHIBIT
A portion of the live exhibit that opens in Vancouver is slated to tour to additional venues through fall 2018. You will have read about the forthcoming AFC exhibit to Qingdao, China as a pilot for a planned recurring Asia-Pacific tour. This summer, our international exhibit will be displayed at the Qingdao Lan Wan Art Gallery at Lan Wan Art Park - a 50-acre ecological park, monumental sculpture garden, and art village, centrally located in one of China's most beautiful and important coastal cities - Qingdao City. Tour details to be provided as dates are confirmed.
USA-BASED ADDRESS FOR EXHIBIT ART

A reminder that AFC has established a Washington state mailing address to receive artwork from US-origins in advance of the show. AFC will arrange to import all the artwork in a single shipment, saving our US-based members substantially on shipping costs, as well as any possible broker fees or taxes. This will also greatly simplify the paperwork and shipping preparation. Artwork delivery deadline will be slightly earlier. Details and schedule will be provided following jurying.

FORWARD THIS TO YOUR ARTIST FRIENDS
You may not have noticed that just below is a button to "Forward to a Friend". If you would like to endorse another artist whom you feel is a strong candidate for AFC membership (i.e. very high calibre work and committed to conservation), please send us an email recommendation and feel free free to forward this newsletter to them, so they are aware of the exciting things AFC has underway in support of our conservation and art promotion mission.
