DTA, MDAR, and USDA   will be holding several sign up events so farmers and farmers market managers can easily get their farm or market ready to accept SNAP (formerly food stamps) benefits. At these drop-in information sessions you can get your farm, farm stand, or farmers' market authorized for SNAP and receive your USDA FNS number the very same day! USDA staff will be on site to walk you through the process and assist with your application. You will also learn about equipment options and about processing SNAP and the new Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) benefit.

Rate: $12/hr
Hours: 8-12  weeks, 10-15 hour/week, flexible
Reports to: Program Director and Executive Director
Description: The Outreach Intern will assist with disseminating SEMAP materials and setting up informational tables at events throughout Southeastern Massachusetts.

Vegetable, Herb, and Flower Plants Organically Grown

At this plant sale you will find all the standard vegetables and are sure to come across some new varieties that you've never heard of before, with a special attention paid to the selection of tomato varieties.  In the herb department, the farm is focusing mostly on annuals but offer some perennials and unique culinary varieties.  Also growing flowers that are perfect for cutting and perennials for your permanent beds.  
  
 

Soule Homestead Education Center is seeking a person with a passion for agriculture, spending time outside and connecting children and families to these values. This person will be an important part of a small but enthusiastic staff team. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Education Coordinator will play a key role at Soule Homestead Education Center.

 
WEATHERLOW FARMS SUMMER MEAT CSA

Weatherlow Farms is now offering a 6-month summer meat CSA for $630. By subscribing to the meat CSA, you will save 20% off of regular retail pricing and get a variety of desirable cuts. From May through October, you will receive a monthly share of 10-15 pounds of meat plus one dozen eggs. Prorated shares are available!

A share is a combination of grass-fed beef and lamb, along with pastured chicken and pork (you may opt out of a protein if you so choose and will receive more of another). Shares include a variety of premium and economical cuts such as whole chicken, sausages, ground beef, beef steaks, beef roasts, lamb chops, ground pork, pork chops and eggs.

Celebrate Mother's Day with local flowers! Join us for a tour of the greenhouses and flower fields, and then learn how to design a large centerpiece arrangement with the best of our spring flowers, including icelandic poppies, tulips, and ranunculus.

 
Spring Tonic Workshop
Thursday, May 18th
Join Phoebe Poole of Weatherlow Florals & Willa Van Nostrand of Little Bitte Artisanal Cocktails in the barn at Weatherlow Farms for our first workshop of the season. We'll tour the greenhouses and make bouquets with farm-grown materials including anemones, ranunculus, flowering branches, and foraged foliage. Then, learn how to make 2 new spring tonics including nettles, sorrel & early season edibles. All materials, cocktails & bites included.
