splash into summer
Splash into Summer Aquatics
The City of Glendale owns two aquatics centers, the Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center and the Rose Lane Aquatics Center, plus a splash pad in Heroes Park. 
The 2017 season for both aquatics facilities is June 3 - Aug. 5, 2017. Heroes Park Splash Pad will be open May 27 - Sept. 4. Facilities are open during facility days/times published online and at each location. Admission fees for city aquatics centers as posted, and splash pad admission is free.

swim lessons SUMMER SWIM LESSONS
 Registration begins May 15 for Residents, May 18 for Non-Residents. Summer swim lessons are offered for all ages and levels. Lessons meet for eight 30-minute classes, Monday - Thursday at Foothills and Tuesday - Friday at Rose Lane. Lessons start the week of June 5.



Friday Night Family Fun with DJ Dangerous
Rad music and activities during the evening hours on the following dates:
  • Foothills Aquatics: Friday June 9 & July 7, 5 - 7p.m.
  • Rose Lane Aquatics: Friday June 16 & August 4 3 - 5p.m.

Happy Hour! (ROSE LANE ONLY) 
$1 off admission between 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesdays - Thursdays  June 3 - Aug. 5.

Historic Preservation Bus Tour
Saturday, May 6th
Experience Glendale's 14th Annual Historic Preservation Bus Tour on Saturday, May 6.  Start your journey at the Glendale Civic Center to check in at 8:30 a.m. The bus tour begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 12 p.m. For additional information and to make your reservations call 623-930-2821.

Mother's Day Celebration
Saturday, May 13th, 10am-4pm
Say Aloha to a day of fun and pampering in Historic Downtown Glendale. Join us for Mother's Day in Paradise as we celebrate moms with a day of deals, meals and more! Start your celebration at the Glendale Visitor Center and pick up an activity list and event map. Accepting donations for deployed female military in partnership with Soroptimist Intl. of the Kachinas. 

Surviving the Summer
Friday, June 2, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 
Get ready for the sizzling summer with this family-friendly event at Westgate Entertainment District. You'll find safety information and resources, businesses offering summer activities, entertainment and much more. Plus, kids will enjoy the fountain park water fun, and other activities abound at Westgate. Free!

Rose Lane Aquatics Center
Aquatics opening day! Phil Lieberman Day at Rose Lane Aquatics Center
Saturday, June 3, 9 a.m.
Opening Day dedication & FREE Admission 
The city of Glendale will dedicate a plaque in honor of late former Councilmember Phil Lieberman. Members of the Glendale City Council will be in attendance to dedicate the new plaque, and the event will be followed by an early opening of the aquatic center and free admission! Glendale Summer Band Concerts
FREE! 8 p.m. at Murphy Park, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 & July 6, 13, 20, 2017
The eight-week concert series takes place in the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre at Murphy Park. Music lovers of all ages will be entertained by this community band of approximately 100 musicians with its inspiring renditions of marches, polkas, movie medleys and other worldly tunes.
