We are informed as believers to pray in the spirit on purpose which means we don't have to wait for an emotional prompting to do what the Spirit of God is telling us to do through the word, we just have to be willing to comply with the word. Believers can pray in two different ways, with your own understanding or by praying in the spirit. When the Lord talks about praying in the spirit in the word he is talking about yielding to the spirit, this kind of prayer requires for us to be spiritually taught, spiritually aware and spiritually in agreement with what the holy spirit is asking us to do.
