THURSDAY FOLDER
News & Information for Greenwood Elementary

3/30/17
From the Desk of Dr. G
Dear Families,

On behalf of the entire Greenwood Elementary team, we hope you have a relaxing Spring Break filled with an abundance of family time and fun. The office team is available over Spring Break to support any questions you might have. We'll see everyone again on  Monday, April 10th.

Kind regards,
Brad Gustafson
Guys Read Book Club
Would you like to be a part of a boys only book club? We are hosting a "Guys Read" book club for a limited number of participants in fourth and fifth grade. We want this to be a dad (or other important adult!) and son book club. The book we will be reading is Scar Island, by author Dan Gemeinhart. Here are all the details:

You will be expected to either purchase a copy of the book or get it from the library. There are a limited number of copies available from Scholastic and you can get one from Mrs. Gibbons for $5. There are also a few copies in our library - first come, first served! Please read it/share it by the last week of April. We will have a celebration of our reading as well as a Skype question and answer session with the author on Monday, May 1st at 6:30pm in the Greenwood Media Center. (This is a joint activity with Meadow Ridge Elementary.)

Click HERE to sign up! Space is limited.

Please note: This is meant to be a dad and son event, not a student drop off activity. By participating you commit to reading the book along with your child and attending the event with your son. Questions? Please contact Mrs. Gibbons, the Library Media Specialist at linda.gibbons@wayzata.k12.mn.us.
Please Visit our Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is overflowing! Please take an inventory at home for any missing clothing. Items that are clearly labeled will be returned to students. Anything left on March 29 will be donated.
Twins Day
Take me out to the ball game! Greenwood's Twins Event will be at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, May 6 when the team plays the Boston Red Sox. You can sit with all of your Greenwood friends in the Home Run Porch View section for only $20 a ticket. Tickets will go quickly so order right away! For additional details and to reserve your tickets, click here. Order forms are due to the Greenwood office by Friday, April 14.
School Supply Kits for 2017-18
The PTA is selling Greenwood school supply kits for the 2017-2018 school year. (If your child is attending another school next year, please contact their school office with school supply questions.) This is an optional online service. It is fast, easy and supplies will be in your child's classroom at Open House. A percentage of all sales will benefit Greenwood. Online ordering will be accepted through April 19. For detailed information and to order the kit, click here. Greenwood's school account number is 87890. Questions? Contact Lori at  lmkurman@yahoo.com .
April PTA Meeting
Mark your calendar for April 18 at 9:30 a.m. We recently added a PTA meeting to our calendar. Please join us in the Media Center as we discuss and prepare for the next school year. We will be reviewing and voting on budgets, chair positions, and looking for 2017-2018 Board volunteers. Hope to see you there!
